Guest speaker Dr. Paul Smolensky

"Optimality in Grammar and Cognition"

Dr. Smolensky has been a full professor in the Department of Cognitive Science, Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore, MD since 1994. He served as the acting chair from January 1997 to June of 1998. He received his B.A. summa cum laude in physics from Harvard University in 1976; his M.S. in physics, from Indiana University in 1977; and his Ph.D. in mathematical physics, from Indiana University in 1981.

 

This event is free and open to the public.
It will be held on Tuesday, February 24th, 2004, at the Johnson Center, in room E, from 7:30pm - 10:00pm.
