Mission
It is the intent of this organization to support student participation in the field of Linguistics and the Teaching of English as a Second Language (TESL) by providing broader access to resources at both the academic and professional levels.
The club promotes monthly events - activities ranging from linguistically relevant films to sponsored speakers. Membership is free. For membership information please contact Lisa Pierce.

Officers
Lisa Pierce, Alison O'Neill, Megan Kelly, John Kinney, and Natalia Jacobsen.

Megan Kelly
At the age of one, Megan set out in search of the ultimate roadside attraction. She explored several countries in the frog-infested rainforests of Central America, picking up an ear for Spanish and a love of hot climates along the way. Megan now finds herself in northern Virginia, where she spends her time photographing still-lifes and jitterbugging to the blues. To keep her restless legs occupied, Megan is pursuing her MA in Linguistics with certification in TESL.

Lisa Pierce
Lisa Pierce has her undergrad degree in French from Penn State and her MA from GWU in International Ed and Development. After a Peace Corps stint in Papua New Guinea, her long-time fascination with language reached its pinnacle, and upon returning to the DC area, she found herself inexorably drawn to George Mason's Linguistics Program. She now wants to get her PhD in Phonology and is applying for Fall 2004 admissions. She's submitting applications on behalf of the whole GMU Linguistics department however, in the hopes that they will go with her. She reassures us that, in efforts to do her part for the environment, she is only using electronic applications.
