Seinfeld
Site
When I explored this website, I found it quite
interesting and eye-catching, with artistic cartoons and witty quotes
attracting the eye of the viewer. When I first glanced at the site,
I found a description of "Seinfeld", the characters, and
the funny quirks of each of the "4 MUSKETEERS" in the show.
I found descriptions of the shows in all of their eight seasons, and
descriptions and grading systems of the shows. It was a fun site,
easy reading, and funny pictures. It attracted the reader through
it its comedy and allowed the reader to understand the screwed up,
funky humor of the show.
- To start off an evaluation, one must first
look at the material contained & who wrote the material. While
searching through the site, I found a list of authors:-
-
- Kristen Bladwin
- Mike Flaherty
- A.J. Jacobs
- Mary Kay Schilling
- Ken Tucker
Realizing that these were the authors of the
site, I searched their names on the internet and found that they have
also been authors to other articles and linked to Entertainment Weekly:
therefore I assume that they are connected to EW in some way.
The organization that this site is connected
to is Entertainment Weekly Online, which is connected to the magazine,
Entertainment Weekly.
This magazine contains reviews of movies, television shows, and other
topics to do with the media & anything to gossip about with actors
and actresses.
- Although there are specific points of view
about the personalities of the characters, I think that there are
more facts than opinion on this site. I feel that it was meant to
inform the reader about this comedy TV show, rather than to persuade
someone into seeing a specific viewpoint. The descriptions of the
characters may seem opinionated, but maybe because I see the characters
in the same context, I feel that it is more informational rather than
opinionated.
As with any media production, certain aspects
of articles, videos and web pages can be questioned for accuracy and
verifiability of its information. What brought verification to my
eyes were the constant references to NBC [the show's producer], certain
statistics given, comments & ratings of many, many episodes from
all their eight seasons, specific quotes from many episodes, and accurate
descriptions of the characters, episodes and the entire show.
- When one searches on the internet, there are
many things to look for in a web site, and one of them is up-to-date
information. As fast as technology is moving today, there is no reason
not to keep updated in the world's current issues and concerns. Therefore,
it is important for any website to keep up with the times. This site
is kept well up-to-date, with references to previous episodes that
have been run only recently. Of course, any website can be behind
the times, and I'm sure between updates that things get a little behind,
but it is well-kept website from what I have been able to analyze.
The relevance of this site to what I am researching
is tremendous. From character analysis to episode ratings, this site
helps. Knowing other's opinions of the characters also helps in the
creation of a good research paper.
Last but not least, the use & quality of
graphics. As I discussed before when I entered this site, I was greeted
with bright pictures, funny quotes, and quirky cartoon drawings, drawing
attention to the less serious side of the television world, allowing
the reader to gather information and have fun at the same time.
