Cardiac medicine, or cardiology, is the branch of medicine that deals with the circulatory system that pertains to the heart and blood vessels, the circulation of blood, and the diseases caused by the heart. Surgery involved with the heart is known as cardiac surgery or cardiovascular surgery. The use of advanced technology is an essential requirement for cardiologists and surgeons, as they diagnose their patients with any heart problems they might face. Several clinicians and biomedical scientists throughout decades of medical history developed cardiology and cardiovascular surgery. European doctors during the twentieth century or years prior to that delineated most of the anatomy of the heart and aspects of it. The very first milestone of cardiac medicine occurred in the 1880’s when two physiologists from German and Britain isolated a mammalian heart at Johns Hopkins University. Various heights and measurements of complicated techniques were used for that procedure. Today advanced technology aids in better understanding of diagnosis and surgical procedure.
