A general outline of the final exam (very similar to the mid term):

	Part I:

Short answers (a few sentences). Worth 24 %; you’ll have a choice of 4 out of 6.

Part II:

Essay questions (two). These should fill up most of the page. Worth
30%. One of them will be worth 20%, the other 10% (your choice as to
which one you want me to count 20%).

Part III:

Fill in the blank. Each correct answer should be one or two words.
Worth 16%; you’ll have a choice of 8 out of 10.

Part IV

Some simple math. I will provide all the formulas. You may use a
calculator (not a computer or PDA) if you wish. Things that might be
in this section is "fill in the blanks in a life-table", "tell me if
this population is increasing or decreasing", give me an estimate of
"effective population" size, etc. You will need to answer 4 out of 5
questions for a total of 20%. I won't make you do anything too
involved, it's not a math class.

Part V:

Matching. 10 questions, for a total of 10%. No choices here.

(The parts might not be in the same order as listed here).

Some hints and a reminder:

Pretty much anything in the notes or class discussion is fair game.
Remember that the student presentations are part of this! Also
remember that the exam is comprehensive. Although I'll concentrate on
the material since the midterm, there will be questions about earlier
stuff (you may ignore the same stuff you did on the mid-term (see my
hints for the mid-term exam)).
