Chem 212
This is the second semester of General Chemistry (syllabus). It is generally taught to science majors (including chemistry and biology majors) as well as those who are preparing for admission to medical school.
Computerized quizzes (handout)will be given in Student union building II (SUB II) room 2002. The quizzes should help you understand concepts better. Please be attentive to the deadlines.
Copies of the Lecture overheads as Powerpoint presentations can be downloaded and printed.
Topics covered include equilibria between liquid and vapor phases, kinetics of reactions, and chemical equilibria (general, acid/base, solubility). At the end of the course equilibrium concepts are discussed in terms of thermodynamics and connections between the two are made. Electrochemistry is also introduced.
